Kim Kardashian appeared to have stepped out of the future when she arrived at the 2026 Met Gala.
The reality star and Skims co-founder, 45, wore a bronze breastplate and an ankle-length open skirt in a daring look she collaborated on with artist Alan Jones.

“We used his body plates that he started making in the ’60s, and this is actually a mold from a model from the ‘60s that we made together, and he painted on top of it,” Kardashian told E! News’ La La Anthony of the pair’s collaboration.

Kardashian completed her look, which nods to the event’s “Fashion is Art” theme this year, with tousled bond hair and tan heels.
Kardashian made her gala debut alongside then partner Kanye West in 2013 when she was pregnant with the couple’s first child, daughter North West.

Kardashian wore a custom floral Givenchy gown by designer Riccardo Tisci that showed off her baby bump.
The following year, the former couple showed up in classic Old Hollywood looks. Kardashian wore a blue strapless Lanvin gown with her hair straight and parted to the side. West wore a black tuxedo with coattails.

Fast forward to Kardashian’s edgier look in 2018 when she paid tribute to the night’s theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” by wearing a gold chainmail Versace dress embellished with crosses.
The following year she wore a custom corseted gown by Thierry Mugler, marking the designer’s first new look in 20 years.
Kardashian made headlines again in 2021 when she showed up to the Met Gala in a dramatic black Balenciaga look that covered her from head to toe.

When Kardashian attended the 2022 gala with then-boyfriend Pete Davidson, she wore the iconic dress Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962 when she sang happy birthday to President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden.
Last year, Kardashian paid homage to the gala’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme by wearing a two-piece leather Chrome Hearts look that she topped off with a leather hat.
