Dame Joan Collins has stunned her fans with her youthful appearance at the age of 92. The acting icon stepped out alongside husband Percy Gibson at Tuesday’s Summer Evening Gala hosted by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices at The Ivy Chelsea Garden.

And those watching on couldn’t believe her age-defying appearance. As Joan and her 61-year-old husband helped to raise funds for terminally ill children across London and Surrey, the star looked incredible in a white satin tuxedo-style jacket. She pinned a rose to the lapel.

Complimenting the look, she wore a plain black shirt with leather edging and opted for a pair of matching smart trousers. She finished the look with black trainers with a thick white sole.

The Dynasty legend’s husband beamed alongside his wife put on a smitten display with her producer husband, who cut a dapper figure in a white button-up shirt, black slacks and a camel blazer.

Joan had previously been asked how she kept such a youthful look. She declared she refused to use weight-loss drugs because they can have “disastrous” effects on how people look.

Instead, she said she simply “cut down” on what she was eating. She told Hello! magazine: “I don’t believe in needles and things. I’ve never had Botox or anything in my face.”

And when it came to potential injections in a bid to keep her weight down, she added: “I’d never dream of doing something like that. I have seen too many disastrous faces.

“I think if you’re going to lose weight, you have to cut down. You want to enjoy your life. You don’t want to live on a celery stick.”

And in January she opened up further on how she remains so young looking. After the film star was asked about the “best piece of advice” she was given by another woman, she had an instant response.

The Hollywood icon said: “When I used to sunbathe, and get very tanned, this friend of mine said, ‘Don’t get the sun on your face, it’ll age you very fast’. So I never did.”

The term used to describe how skin becomes damaged over time due to sun exposure is known as photoaging. The cause of the issue is constant and ongoing exposure to ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation.

It’s not just natural sunlight that causes this, though. Tanning beds and sun lamps also emit the same radiation. This makes them just as harmful.

But Joan insists the best option is to avoid it wherever possible. Avoiding this kind of intense sun exposure can also help reduce the risk of developing certain cancers.
