Russell Wilson tells The Post he’s mulling Jets contract offer

Russell Wilson is mulling an offer to join the Jets.

Wilson, 37, left his free agent visit to the team facility last week with an opportunity to sign a contract and join a depth chart headed by his friend and former Seahawks teammate Geno Smith, he told The Post.

“It was great,” Wilson said as one of the dozens of celebrities on the trading floor at BTIG Charity Day. “They offered me, and I’m trying to figure out what the next best thing is for me to do. I still know I can play ball at a high level, but also I have an opportunity to do TV [analysis], so we’ll see what happens.”

The biggest Jets need is a veteran backup quarterback to place between Smith and the inexperienced trio of Bailey Zappe, Brady Cook and rookie fourth-round pick Cade Klubnik. No one left on the market has Wilson’s résumé as a 10-time Pro Bowler, or threw for 450 yards and three touchdowns in a game last season during one of his three starts for the Giants before he was benched for Jaxson Dart.
