Voters go to the polls in Exeter and Plymouth local elections

Polling stations have opened in Plymouth and Exeter for local elections.

A third of the seats on both Plymouth and Exeter’s city councils are being contested.

Polling stations are open from 07:00 until 22:00 BST on Thursday, with the results due to be announced on Friday.

In both cities, a third of seats are contested each year for three years, followed by a fourth year when there are no elections.
