Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has revealed how having an affair ‘made her marriage stronger’ in a stunning admission.
The singer and ITV panelist returned to Loose Women on Wednesday afternoon (May 6). Joining Coleen on the panel was Janet Street-Porter, Gloria Hunniford and Kaye Adams
During Monday’s (May 6) episode of the ITV daytime programme, Coleen returned to screens alongside fellow panellists Janet Street-Porter, Gloria Hunniford and Kaye Adams as they discussed their views on the week’s most talked-about topics.

In an episode where they discussed the ongoing flight cancellations due to a shortage, the panel talked about whether women face harsher judgement than men regarding infidelity. During the discussion Coleen brought up her personal life.
Coleen revealed to her co-stars that she was unfaithful during a previous marriage. The 61-year-old has been married and divorced on two occasions.
She was initially married to EastEnders actor Shane Richie in 1990 before divorcing in 1999. The pair had two sons together, Jake Roche and Shane Nolan.
Coleen went to get engaged to musician Ray Fensome, who she shares daughter Ciara Fensome with, on her 40th birthday in 2005. Trying the knot in 2007, the pair got divorced back in 2018.

Speaking about her past, Coleen said: “I had an affair when I was married, and I would never condone it. I don’t really want to make excuses for it but mine was very different to his [Coleen’s ex].
“Although I tried to stand out and be great and the perfect wife, I was getting ignored. You know, I was just the mother of the children. I never set out to have an affair but then I met this guy, who all of a sudden showered me with attention and was like ‘you’re so attractive, you’re so gorgeous’.”
She continued: “And, of course, I was vulnerable at that point and I fell for it – it was like four or five weeks and I hated myself for it. When I thought about it, I thought, I’m doing this because I want this off my actual husband.
“When he found out, the heartbreak was horrendous but it actually, for the next couple of years probably made our marriage stronger because he realised that he had absolutely just ignored me.”
Coleen broke up with her boyfriend Michael Jones in 2024 after three years together. She can currently be found looking for love on the latest season of E4’s Celebs Go Dating.
The latest episode of the series saw Coleen going on her her first date of the show with a man named Neil. Despite finding him to be a ‘really nice man’ Coleen didn’t feel ‘any connection’ or ‘attraction to him’.
Having his say on why she told Neil that she’d want to see him again in spite of not wanting to, relationship expert Paul C Brunson said: “That is the epitome of people pleasing.” To which Coleen replied: “I don’t know if it’s people pleasing, I just don’t want to hurt people.”
