Chorley local election results 2026 in full

Voters in Chorley in Lancashire have had their say in the 2026 local elections.
Seats on Chorley Borough Council were up for election in the wards of Adlington and Anderton, Astley and Buckshaw, Brindle and Hoghton, Chisnall, Chorley East, Chorley North East, Chorley North West, Chorley South East, Chorley South West, Clayton-le-Woods North, Clayton-le-Woods West and Cuerden, Clayton-le-Woods and Whittle-le-Woods, Coppull, Eccleston and Mawdesley, Euxton North, Euxton South, Heath Charnock and Rivington, Lostock, Pennine, and Wheelton and Withnell.
A total of 14 out of 42 seats were up for grabs on Chorley Borough Council, with one councillor elected in each ward.
District councils are responsible for some local government services including recycling, council tax collection and planning.
Ahead of the 2026 election, Chorley Borough Council was run by Labour with 37 seats.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 7, with the count taking place overnight. May 8. Results for the Chorley Borough Council local election are due from 2am on Friday morning.
In total, more than 5,000 council seats were up for grabs across 136 local authorities in England on election day. Mayoral elections also took place in six areas.
