Leeds local election results 2026 in full

Voters in Leeds, West Yorkshire, have had their say in the 2026 local elections.
A total of 36 out of 99 seats were up for grabs on Leeds City Council, with one or two councillors elected in each ward. Two seats were up for grabs in the wards of Adel and Wharfedale, Morley North and Temple Newsam.
One seat was up for election in the wards of Alwoodley, Ardsley and Robin Hood, Armley, Beeston and Holbeck, Bramley and Stanningley, Burmantofts and Richmond Hill, Calverley and Farsley, Chapel Allerton, Cross Gates and Whinmoor, Farnley and Wortley, Garforth and Swillington, Gipton and Harehills, Guiseley and Rawdon, Harewood, Headingley and Hyde Park, Horsforth, Hunslet and Riverside, Killingbeck and Seacroft, Kippax and Methley, Kirkstall, Little London and Woodhouse, Middleton Park, Moortown, Morley South, Otley and Yeadon, Pudsey, Rothwell, Roundhay, Weetwood and Wetherby.

Elections in Leeds take place three out of every four years, with a third of all councillors elected each time.
Leeds is a metropolitan borough council responsible for services like rubbish collection, recycling, Council Tax collections, housing and planning applications.
Ahead of the election, Leeds City Council was run by Labour with 56 seats.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 7, with the count taking place on Friday. Results for Leeds are expected at 3pm on Friday, May 8.
In total, more than 5,000 council seats were up for grabs across 136 local authorities in England on election day. Mayoral elections also took place in six areas.
