🇮🇹 Italy: Mariasole Pollio Announced as Eurovision 2026 Spokesperson

Italian broadcaster RAI has revealed the name of its spokesperson during the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.

In a press release revealed today, Italian Broadcaster RAI gave more details about its Eurovision coverage, including the name of the spokesperson for the Italian jury.

Maria Sole Pollio, TV host and comedian, will be responsible for giving the 12 points from Italy during the Grand Final. Sharing the same Neapolitan roots as Sal da Vinci, she has been seen in famous Italian shows, such as Don Matteo and The Traitors, as well as having been in 2025 co-host of PrimaFestival, the show aired before Sanremo.

Italy will be represented this year by Sal da Vinci with “Per sempre sì”. As a Big 5 member, the country is automatically qualified for the Grand Final on May 16, but will perform and vote during the first semi-final on May 12.

Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest

Italy debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has participated a total of 42 times to date. Italy returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 having last participated in the contest in 1997. The country has withdrawn from the contest on a number of occasions in the past. Italy has won the contest three times, the first time being in 1964 and the latest being in 2021. Since their return in 2011, Italy has finished in the top 10 on twelve occasions.
