Here’s the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2026 Truist Championship

Another week, another signature event. On the heels of the Cadillac Championship and Cameron Young winning, the tour heads to Quail Hollow in Charlotte, N.C., for the Truist Championship, which was played in Philadelphia this year.

It’s another top field although last week World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler played and World No. 2 Rory McIlroy did not. This week it’s the opposite as Scheffler has opted out and McIlroy is making his first start since winning the Masters for the second straight year.

Eight of the top 10 players in the world are playing and they’ll compete for the $20 million purse with the champion taking home $3.6 million. Sepp Straka is the defending champion. There is also an opposite-field event in Myrtle Beach this week. The winner of that and the Truist both earn entry into the PGA Championship next week if not otherwise qualified.

McIlroy is automatically the man to beat this week as he’s won four times already at Quail Hollow, including two years ago, the last time the event was here. Young, last week’s runaway champion, is up to No. 3 in the world and looks to continue his form from this year. Matt Fitzpatrick is ranked No. 4 and did not play last week but has won the last two events he’s played on the PGA Tour—the RBC Heritage and the Zurich Classic with his brother Alex, who tied for ninth last week at Doral and is playing again this week.

Xander Schauffele is ranked 12th in the world and has finished runner-up at Quail Hollow each of the last two times (2023, 24) the tournament was held here.

Tony Finau, Max Homa, Mackenzie Hughes and Webb Simpson are all sponsor invites. Homa, just earlier on Tuesday, found out he got into the PGA Championship field when Phil Mickelson withdrew. Finau is still on the alternate list for next week at Aronimink a month after failing to qualify for the Masters.

Check back here Sunday after play is over for updates.
