Riverside shelter in place lifted, armed robbery suspect not located

Suspect is not believed to be in the Riverside area.

The St. Albert RCMP has lifted a shelter in place that was ordered this afternoon, although the suspect still hasn’t been located. 

At 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, the St. Albert RCMP issued a shelter in place in the Riverside neighbourhood, as officers were searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery. 

Cpl. Gina Slaney with the RCMP said the initial offence occurred in Edmonton, and the suspect was last seen leaving a vehicle in the Riverside neighbourhood of St. Albert. The investigation is continuing.

The RCMP are lifting the shelter in place, they announced at 4:54 p.m., the suspect has not been located but is not believed to be in the area.
