Two people are dead and three are hospitalized, including a child, after a crash Sunday morning, according to police.
Airdrie RCMP responded to the crash at 10:39 a.m. at the intersection of Highways 9 and 564, about 30 kilometres northeast of Calgary.
The crash involved a GMC truck pulling a trailer and a Ford Escape, with one and four occupants respectively.
Two women in the Ford Escape died, one at the scene and one in hospital. A man and child were taken to hospital in critical condition, with the child airlifted by STARS.
The driver of the GMC truck was taken to hospital in serious condition.
RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
The highway was reopened Sunday evening after being closed following the crash.
