Disney Adventure sailing after canceled cruise, guests disembarked

Disney’s newest cruise ship is sailing again, after a mechanical issue unexpectedly canceled its previous voyage.

Guests had already boarded Disney Adventure in Singapore on May 7, when their cruise was canceled and they were asked to disembark.

“We completely understand this was an unfortunate situation for our guests and worked with them directly to support their travel needs, help make their trip home as smooth as possible and invite them back to a future sailing,” Disney told USA TODAY in a statement.

Disney offered impacted guests a full refund of their cruise fair and unused, pre-paid incidentals like photo packages.

Guests were also offered 50% off a future sailing, complimentary hotel accommodations for May 7, reimbursement for hotel and flight changes, up to $500 coverage for incidentals, and additional assistance, on a case-by-case basis.

Disney said its Adventure ship departed as scheduled on its next sailing, May 11, after the mechanical issue was resolved.

The vessel debuted this March as the largest ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet. It’s also the first to be homeported in Asia, as part of the company’s efforts to bring Disney experiences to more audiences worldwide.
