The famed Opta supercomputer believes West Ham United’s chances of staying in the Premier League are increasingly remote.
While things could change again if Leeds beat Tottenham on Monday night, West Ham United are currently on course to join Wolves and Burnley in exiting the Premier League through the trap door.
A devastating finale, but who was your West Ham MOTM? 😪

Indeed, West Ham lost to Arsenal on Sunday in a hugely controversial game that has split the debate among Hammers News readers and subscribers on TalkingPoints. You can sign up for the platform for free here.
Still, wherever one stands on the VAR decision to rule out Callum Wilson’s late goal, the sad reality is that the defeat edges West Ham closer to the Championship.
West Ham given 87.65% chance of relegation
Opta’s famed analytics have given West Ham an 87.65% chance of relegation.
Time is running out and while there’s only a point between them and Spurs right now, that could all change on Monday night when Roberto De Zerbi’s men meet Leeds.
Give us your response to Callum Wilson’s VAR heartbreak? 😫
The right call? Or harsh on Pablo?
There remains a slim chance that West Ham could yet get out of this. It would take an almighty turnaround, however, and it does not feel likely right now.
Their survival mission was built on the momentum they generated from mid-January onwards. That has evaporated now, both because of a dreadful performance at Brentford last week and the VAR call against the Gunners on Sunday.

West Ham are not (currently) going down because of that VAR decision, as painful as it may be. They are looking likely to drop because they’ve simply not done enough over the course of the campaign.
All eyes are on Spurs now. Having to rely on what another team does is hardly ideal but it’s all supporters can cling onto right now.
What a sorry old mess this has all become.
