In 30 games split between Double-A Binghamton (18 games) and Triple-A Syracuse (12 games), Ewing is hitting .339/.447/.514, with a .961 OPS and a .398 BABIP. He has nine doubles, two triples, and two home runs, driving in 11 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has walked 22 times (more walks than strikeouts) this year and also has 17 stolen bases, flashing his speed.

Drafted at No. 134 overall in the fourth compensation round of the 2023 MLB draft, Ewing has quickly worked his way through the Mets’ farm system.

Ewing impressed in spring training, and now in need of an offensive spark, the Mets will hope that calling up the 21-year-old to join Carson Benge will bring more young energy to the team and give them the kickstart they need to turn things around.

Along with a pending offensive spark, Ewing is great defensively, able to track down the ball and make great plays in center field. An outfield with Benge and Ewing should be strong.

All eyes will now be on the Mets’ upcoming series against the Tigers starting Tuesday. Ewing should be in the starting lineup and playing center field as he joins the team with the worst record in the majors.
