Montgomery man killed in Monday morning Virginia crash

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WSFA) – A Montgomery man was killed in an early Monday morning crash, according to Virginia State Police.

Foster Lee Ware II, 82, was a passenger in a Lexus RX-450 when it crashed along Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, around 6:50 a.m.

The vehicle was traveling south when the driver lost control, ran off the road, and struck trees, the law enforcement agency said.

Ware II, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators did not say if there were any other injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
