Nate Diaz blasts Charles Oliveira for shutting down his callout but asking for Conor McGregor: ‘You’re full of sh*t’

Nate Diaz knows he can still hang with the best of the best across multiple divisions in the UFC, which is exactly why he called for a fight against new “BMF” champion Charles Oliveira after he vanquished Max Holloway back in March.
But Diaz says his request was effectively shut down when Oliveira claimed he was gunning for lightweight gold after previously holding that title but then falling short in a pair of championship fights against Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria. While he understood Oliveira’s decision, Diaz was understandably annoyed when he heard “Do Bronx” mention a possible fight against Conor McGregor, who is coming off back-to-back losses and a five-year long layoff following a broken leg in his last outing in the UFC.
“Oliveira got the belt and I was waiting for shit to happen,” Diaz told MMA Fighting. “Oliveira’s the man. I’ve been around longer than Oliveira. Everybody thinks that he’ll kill me but I’m like yeah right. I always wondered why me and Oliveira never fought. Oliveira was always getting his ass whooped when I was f*cking everybody up and now he’s just out of nowhere. So when he finally got the belt and was around, I was like oh shit, I’ll fight f*cking Oliveira. So I said what’s up with Oliveira? Respectfully, I’d like to fight Oliveira. He’s been around and he said ‘no, thanks homie.’ [He said] ‘I’m trying to fight for titles and do all this big shit’ and I’m like OK, you got me on that. I don’t have the belt and I’m like you could say that you little f*cker.
“Because you’re right there and then he won f*cking one fight and then he called out Conor. That’s exactly what I thought when he called out Conor. Why are you trying to fight the guy who’s coming off a leg break, just got knocked out and he’s all f*cked up and f*cking on a downward spiral and you’re over here like ‘no thanks, homie, I’m trying to do bigger things.’”
Diaz, who fights Mike Perry in the co-main event of the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano card on Saturday, doesn’t appreciate that Oliveira somehow looked past him but continues to tout his interest in a fight against McGregor.
Of course, Oliveira has talked about fighting McGregor for several years but Diaz doesn’t see how that matchup does anything for his career, especially if he’s trying to work his way back to a UFC lightweight title shot.
“I was like picking on a guy that just got his ass whooped the whole time, motherf*cker?” Diaz said about Oliveira. “You’re full of shit. You think you’re f*cking tight and that’s why I had something to say about Oliveira. I don’t have nothing against him except for that.
“No thanks, homie, I’m onto bigger, better things. Like what? Picking on a guy who just got his ass whooped the whole time? That’s whack.”
He also shut down his interest in a Dustin Poirier fight for a lot of the same reasons after the former UFC interim lightweight champion suffered a loss to Max Holloway and then retired from the sport.
But Oliveira fits into an entirely different category because he’s still active, he’s a former UFC champion and he’s holding onto the “BMF” title — a belt Diaz effectively helped to create.
The fact that Oliveira seemed so interested in the McGregor fight but not Diaz only adds fuel to the fire for the future.
“Those are the motherf*ckers that I’m trying to fight,” Diaz said about Oliveira. “I’m fighting the bullies.”
