Who to BUY to attack the best fixtures in Gameweek 37?

The Scout looks at the data to highlight the clubs who are facing out-of-form defences in Gameweek 37 of Fantasy Premier League, and picks out the best attacking players from those teams.

At this point of the season, with only two Gameweeks remaining of 2025/26 Fantasy, long-term planning goes out the window and it is time to make transfers that will have an immediate impact.

A popular recent tactic has been to target both the Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers defences by bringing in attackers who play against those relegated clubs.

This has proven a successful strategy as both clubs have failed to keep a clean sheet across their last four matches, conceding 10 and eight goals respectively.

Arsenal’s home match against Burnley in Gameweek 37 has helped Viktor Gyokeres (£9.0m) and Bukayo Saka (£10.0m) attract plenty of new owners as Mikel Arteta’s side look for a big win to boost their goal difference in their battle for the title with Manchester City.

Gyokeres and Saka are both among the three most-bought players ahead of Friday’s 18:30 BST deadline, earning 77,000+ and 57,000+ transfers in respectively.

Which other clubs face out-of-form defences in Gameweek 37?

A look at the table below helps to show that when it comes to big chances conceded (BCC) – situations where a player is expected to score – there are a number of other clubs who have also been struggling defensively over their last four matches.

Owners of Aston Villa duo Morgan Rogers (£7.4m) and Ollie Watkins (£8.7m) will take encouragement from Liverpool’s data here ahead of their encounter with the Reds at Villa Park on Friday evening.

Arne Slot’s side have conceded 11 big chances and are without a clean sheet over their last four matches – exactly the same as Burnley on both counts.

There are two matches which contain four of the worst recent defences: Everton v Sunderland and Wolves v Fulham.

Everton’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£5.2m) and Fulham’s Harry Wilson (£5.9m) have been the top attacking targets from those four clubs in Gameweek 37, earning 38,000+ and 32,000+ transfers in respectively.

Who struggles on the road, and who struggles at home?

By assessing teams’ home and away data across the season, you can get a better idea of which teams have been consistently weak according to match location.

As the table below shows, when it comes to conceding goals, Burnley’s away record is the worst of any club this season.

The Clarets have failed to keep a single clean sheet on their travels, conceding 45 goals in 18 outings, which looks like great news for Gyokeres and Saka this weekend.

Once again, the Wolves v Fulham match is flagged as one of two which has two vulnerable defences going head-to-head, but this time the other fixture is Newcastle United’s home match against West Ham United.

West Ham have conceded 49 big chances in away matches, while the Magpies have conceded 43 at home and managed only three clean sheets, suggesting it could be a good fixture for attackers from both teams.

Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes (£6.8m) has averaged 7.8 points per home start this season, more than any other regular starter in Fantasy.

Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m) has scored or assisted 49 per cent of West Ham’s goals under Nuno Espirito Santo and sits just four points off second place in the forward standings on 173 points.

Who are the form players?

By combining both of the tables above – clubs’ defensive stats over their last four matches and also their home/away stats across the season – there are essentially five teams whose opponents feature in each table and look vulnerable.

The teams to invest in are Arsenal, Aston Villa and Everton for their home matches against Burnley, Liverpool and Sunderland respectively, plus Wolves and Fulham for their clash at Molineux.

So, let’s look for the attacking players from those five clubs who have impressed the most recently.

Villa’s Watkins leads the way on 28 points over the last four Gameweeks, scoring three goals and supplying an assist. He has averaged 9.0 points per match in the three fixtures he has started in that spell.

By comparison, his team-mate Rogers has 14 points in this time, HALF that of Watkins’ 28.

Everton’s Beto (£5.0m) and Dewsbury-Hall have been the most reliable players for the Toffees, both blanking in just one of their last four matches. Beto has scored three goals to collect 25 points, while Dewsbury-Hall has combined a goal with two assists to earn 21 points.

Gyokeres, Saka and Leandro Trossard (£6.5m) have only started two of Arsenal’s last four matches, against Fulham and West Ham in the last two Gameweeks.

Whereas Gyokeres and Saka both delivered double-figure hauls against Fulham before subsequently blanking at West Ham, Trossard has been the more consistent and has spread his attacking returns (a goal and an assist) over the two matches.

Fulham and Wolves, meanwhile, have each scored just a single goal in their last four matches.

The Cottagers’ Ryan Sessegnon (£5.4m) scored their solitary goal, against Villa in Gameweek 34, to pick up 11 points. But he remains a doubt with the muscle problem that forced him to miss Gameweeks 35-36.

Who’s had the most attacking threat?

A delve into the underlying data shows that Watkins and Trossard have been involved in six big chances in their last four matches, more than any other players from those five clubs with the best fixtures.

Watkins takes top spot courtesy of his goal threat – he’s had four big chances and supplied two more, whereas it’s the other way round for Trossard.

Both Beto and Gyokeres have matched the four big chances of Watkins, with the Everton star’s 10 shots in the box more than any other player in the table below.

Villa’s John McGinn (£5.3m) and Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye (£6.2m) both have the edge over their more popular midfield team-mates Rogers and Dewsbury-Hall and could be great overlooked assets.

McGinn leads Rogers by four big-chance involvements to two, while Ndiaye has had seven shots in the box to the two of Dewsbury-Hall.

Finally, the numbers over their last four matches suggest that if there’s any attacker who can profit from Wolves’ home clash against Fulham, it’s Adam Armstrong (£5.2m).

The Wolves forward’s two big-chance involvements (BCI) and seven shots in the box both rank top among all players from those two clubs.
