Premier League standings: Manchester City answers Arsenal in title race

Arsenal faces pressure in tight Premier League title race

Arsenal leads the race and could win it all, but pressure mounts with Manchester City still lurking behind.

The Premier League title race is down to the final two matches of the season with Arsenal holding a two-point advantage over Manchester City.

City kept the pace with a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday, May 13, securing a much-needed three points.

Arsenal controls its own destiny and the Gunners will secure their first championship since 2004 if they win both remaining games. Manchester City needs Arsenal to slip up, currently holding the tiebreaker with a +43 goal differential if the teams finish tied on points.

City has won six of the past eight Premier League crowns and has spent most of the season chasing Arsenal, which would become the first team in history to finish in second place four years in a row – if it can’t finish the job.

Arsenal faces relegated Burnley at home on Monday, May 18, while City’s next Premier League game is Tuesday, May 19 against Bournemouth – after playing in the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday, May 16.

The Premier League season ends on Sunday, May 24 with every team in action at 11 a.m. ET.
