M2 eastbound closed after lorry and pedestrian collision

Police were called to the scene on the coastbound carriageway of the M2 near junction three at Chatham, Kent, at 2pm on Thursday, May 14.
The M2 in Kent remains closed eastbound between junctions 3 (Chatham) and 4 (Hempstead) following a medical emergency.
A diversion route has been put in place.
Drivers are being advised to follow the solid circle diversion symbol and exit the M2 at junction three.

From there, take the third exit onto the A229 and travel for 300 metres to Lord Lee’s Roundabout.
At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the A229 south towards Maidstone and continue for approximately 2.5 miles to join the M20 eastbound at junction six.
Remain on the M20 for just over a mile and exit at junction seven to take the first exit onto the A249 north.
Continue for 5.5 miles to rejoin the M2 at junction five.
Motorists are being warned of delays and are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
