LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — An incident involving a possibly armed suspect led to a heavy police presence near a North Las Vegas high school on Thursday.
North Las Vegas Police said they responded to the area near Legacy High School, at Deer Springs Way and Goldfield Street, for “an active law enforcement incident involving a suspect believed to be armed.”
Schools were placed on precautionary lockdowns as officers searched for the suspect, according to NLVPD.
“At this time, the situation has been contained and there is no known ongoing threat to the public,” police wrote in an email to News 3. “The investigation remains active and additional details are still being gathered.”
No further details were immediately confirmed.
