Drake Reveals That His Father Dennis Graham Has Cancer

Drake has revealed that his father, Dennis Graham, has cancer.
During the fourth episode of his Iceman livestream, the rapper played a song from his upcoming album that features a line about his father’s illness. “My dad got cancer right now/We battling stages,” Drizzy raps.
On Thursday, Drake’s dad shared a new instagram post of the the father and son duo hugging. “The Ice Man and The Nice Man just doing what we do, don’t get it twisted,” he captioned the photo.
Drake has been honest about his relationship with his father over the years, suggesting that it was strained due to him being absent in his life.

Iceman is the culmination of a three-year wait for Drake’s next solo project. In the time since For All My Dogs came out in 2023, his personal style has evolved, he’s released a joint album with PartyNextDoor ($ome $exy $ongs 4 U), and he’s been embroiled in a legal battle with Universal Music Group.
In recent months, though, Drake amped up the rollout for Iceman after years of teases.
Perhaps the most high-profile stunt of the rollout was when he unveiled Iceman’s May 15 release date via a massive ice sculpture in Toronto. Fans were supposed to use tools and fire to dig into the sculpture and discover the release date — which one fan bravely did.
After it became a public danger, fire crews melted the ice structure — though the city’s mayor, Olivia Chow, expressed her excitement for Iceman when explaining why it needed to be destroyed.
Another massive bit of PR for the project came when Charlamagne Tha God warned DJ Khaled and ASAP Rocky that they were getting dissed on Iceman. During an episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne relayed that he heard from his sources that Khaled and Rocky needed to be “on edge.”
Now that it’s out, the conversation about Iceman should shift to if it’s Drake’s best album yet — which we started the argument for a few days before its release.
