Save the Day with Twitch Helpers in Angel Guardian

Although I’m usually only interested in single player campaigns, I can sort of see the appeal of services like Twitch. In fact, there was a short period of time I toyed with the idea of broadcasting myself running and screaming from monsters in The Binding of Isaac. Point being, today I’m writing up an upcoming indie adventure by Corgee Inc. that integrates Twitch functionality, and it’s called Angel Guardian.
Here’s the basic hook of Angel Guardian:
In the game, you play as Kita, protecting the young prince Eiji during a space station attack. But instead of a traditional companion, Eiji evolves alongside you, unlocking abilities that become part of the combat itself.
At the same time, Twitch viewers can:
- send ammo to help
- spawn enemies to increase the challenge
- or trigger Eiji’s abilities mid-run
It creates a unique dynamic between the player and their audience, where no two runs play the same.
While certainly novel, you’ll be happy to hear the game is also offering a more traditional single player campaign without worrying about chaos caused by your audience. Which is good, since the 90s anime visual style of Angel Guardian is quite appealing.
If it can combine that with a balanced and engaging gameplay loop, this could be something special when it launches later this year on Steam. Check it out yourself in the Angel Guardian trailer below! And as always, stay tuned to HPP for more promising indie adventures.
