Sheinelle Jones took a trip down memory lane while preparing for a major life update.
On the Thursday, May 14, episode of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, Jones revealed that she will soon be moving with her three kids. “So, I’m moving. The kids are going to a new school, so we’re moving,” she shared. “And I have been going through boxes and boxes and boxes in our basement.”
Jones did not specify where she and her family will be moving. It is possible she may join the likes of Dylan Dreyer and former Today host Hoda Kotb in moving to the suburbs of New York City. Jones shares her three children — Kayin, Clara, and Uche — with her late husband, Uche Ojeh, who died at the age of 45 in May 2025 following a private battle with brain cancer.
“They say moving is one of the three most stressful [things]. But I think it’s a good thing,” Jenna Bush Hager told Jones on the show. “My mom [Laura Bush] said that to me once when I was moving, and I was so stressed. She said, ‘It’s one of life’s most stressful things, so you know that. So then, you just lower your expectations. You know it’s going to be tricky.’”
After thanking Bush Hager for her words of wisdom, Jones revealed the sentimental item she discovered while sorting through old boxes in her basement with her babysitter. “I found this old suitcase, and I unzipped it, and it was my wedding dress,” she shared. “And I remember everybody telling me that you’re supposed to get them preserved, and I didn’t. I remember, Uche and I took pictures all over the streets of Philadelphia, so the bottom of it is like [dirty]. It’s like that from the bottom.”

Snaps from Jones and Ojeh’s wedding photo shoot appeared on screen as she shared her story. “Look how beautiful it is,” Bush Hager gushed.
Jones continued, “So now, obviously, I see it differently, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my goodness. I never had it preserved. Do they do that? Is it too late?’”
Bush Hager, for her part, said she didn’t have her own wedding dress preserved. Like Jones, she was unsure of its whereabouts until she went looking for it to throw a party for her seventh wedding anniversary. (Bush Hager and her husband, Henry Hager, tied the knot in 2008.)
“I said, ‘Mom, where is my wedding dress?’ She said, ‘I have it,’” she recalled. “I said, ‘OK. I want to try it on ‘cause I want to do this party.’ She was like, ‘OK, sure. We can try it on.’ It didn’t fit.”
Jones went on to detail more items she found while sorting through her boxes, including “pictures from elementary school,” “Clara’s first sneaker,” and more. Bush Hager poked fun at Jones for keeping unneeded items such as her kids’ crib bumpers and VHS tapes.
“I have an idea. I’ll post it [on social media], and you guys can say keep or throw away,” Jone suggested. Bush Hager replied, “I’ll also come over and get ruthless with you.”
Jones accepted Bush Hager’s proposal and agreed to provide rosé for the occasion. “Rose and N-95s,” she quipped.
