How to get Strong Acid in Subnautica 2

Crafting Strong Acid in Subnautica 2 is a key part of producing a Power Cell, something you’ll need if you want to get a Tadpole mini-sub up and running. Unlike Mild Acid, which is easy to acquire using the Acidic Raion organisms you find all over, you’ll have to venture further afield to gather the Necrolei Cysts for its stronger counterpart.

You’ll also need a Processor facility to craft it, but luckily, you can find everything you’ll require for that in one neat little location.

You’ll first need a Processor facility to craft Strong Acid, which means scanning one to unlock it as a blueprint. You can find one in the Old Habitat about 350 meters to the north of the Life Pod—NOA will actually send you here to track down a black box, provided you locate the others it asks you to first.

While you’re near the Old Habitat, it’s also worth gathering the Necrolei Cysts you need to craft the Strong Acid. You can harvest these turquoise flowers in the jellyfish forest. As shown in the video above, you head north from the Life Pod until you start noticing a blue-ish hue and tentacled Jelly Lei structures appearing on either side.

You’ll arrive at the Old Habitat, where you’ll want to turn left towards the big plants with the pink tendrils. Near to these, you’ll find orbs standing up on pink tentacles with flowers on top—these are Stilt Orbs, and Necrolei Cysts grow from the top of them. Take out your Survival Multitool and cut off the cyst to acquire it.

You need two Necrolei Cysts for every Strong Acid, so you may as well gather lots while you’re here. Take these back to base, construct the Processor, and you’re ready to produce some.

It’s worth noting that you can also make Strong Acid with sulphur and gold. You can find the former in areas with big Coral Crabs, but the latter requires you to unlock the Heat Tolerance adaptation, so it’s a lot more time-involved versus the Necrolei Cyst method above.
