Saturday: Expect scattered rain in the morning, tapering off by early afternoon. We should be able to get the Cardinals game in, but a brief rain delay is possible if an afternoon storm pops up. If isolated storms redevelop in the afternoon and evening, there’s a very low severe risk; small hail or gusty winds can’t be ruled out.
Sunday: This is our dry, hotter day with partly cloudy skies and a high near 90° (record is 94° from 1996). Humidity will be noticeable, and winds will gust over 25 mph at times through the day. It’ll be toasty for the Cardinals game!
Monday–Tuesday: We’re tracking an early-week cold front that could bring strong to severe storms. There’s still uncertainty regarding the timing. On Monday, we may see a round of showers and storms late, but the best potential for severe weather is further west. How well storms hold together as they move in will determine our local severe risk. The front looks to move through sometime Tuesday, bringing another chance for severe weather. If it arrives in the afternoon or early evening, our severe potential increases. An earlier arrival wouldn’t line up as well with storm fuel, and storms may not be as strong. We’ll also need to watch for any morning rain, storms, or cloud cover, as that could impact the later round. Even with the uncertainties, keep an eye out for potential First Alert Weather Days early next week.
