Cowboy builder conned families out thousands and stole materials in crime spree

A cowboy builder conned families out of thousands of pounds and stole building materials during a string of offences spanning more than a year.
Grant Peters offered to carry out building work but only partially completed the jobs between February 2020 and July 2021. The court heard he was paid more than £20,000 from victims.
The 39-year-old, from Dalkeith, failed to repay customers despite repeated requests and admitted obtaining money by fraud, reports EdinburghLive.
