Tennessee softball faces Virginia in the winners’ side of the Knoxville Regional bracket on May 16 at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
The Lady Vols (43-10) handled Northern Kentucky 3-1 in the regional opener. Erin Nuwer pitched a complete game one-hitter as Tennessee rested Karlyn Pickens for the rest of the regional.
Virginia (39-13) outlasted Indiana in an eight-inning thriller on May 15 to advance to the 1-0 game.
The winner will move on to the regional championship on May 17, with two games to win one and move on to the super regionals. The loser will play later on May 16 against the Indiana-NKU winner.
