Seattle Mariners’ TV broadcast for Sunday changes channels

Sunday’s game between the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres will now be available on network TV.

NBC announced Saturday morning that its Sunday Night Baseball broadcast of the game has been moved from NBC Sports to NBC. The game will still stream on Peacock.

Mariners reveal plan for next turn through rotation

Sunday’s matchup is scheduled for a 4:20 p.m. first pitch. Jason Benetti will be on the play-by-play call with a pair of former MLB pitchers as analysts, three-time All-Star Jake Peavy and former Mariner Ryan Rowland-Smith. Three-time All-Star first baseman Anthony Rizzo and Ahmed Fareed will be on the pregame and postgame shows.

As always, radio coverage of the game can be heard on Seattle Sports 710 AM and the Seattle Sports app. Coverage begins with the pregame show at 3 p.m. Play-by-play will also air on KIRO Newsradio 97.3 FM and KIRO Newsradio app.

Mariners right-hander George Kirby (5-2 record, 2.84 ERA) is set to make the mound against Padres right-hander Lucas Giolito, who will be making his first start of the year after signing with San Diego on April 22.

NBC was originally slated to carry the potential Game 7 of the NBA’s Western Conference semifinal series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs, but the Spurs clinched the series with a 139-109 victory in Game 6 on Friday night.
