An awkward moment involving Jake Paul’s fiancée Jutta Leerdam and controversial streamer Braden Peters, better known online as “Clavicular” or the “looksmaxxer,” has gone viral after the influencer accidentally tried to flirt with the Olympic speed skating star before realising who she was. The uncomfortable exchange happened during a livestream around the offices of Paul’s betting company Betr, with Peters eventually apologising to the boxer after the misunderstanding.
Streamer mistakes Jutta Leerdam for an employee
Jake Paul and Dutch speed skating star Jutta Leerdam have been together since 2023 after first connecting through Instagram direct messages. The couple announced their engagement in March 2025 following Paul’s proposal in Puerto Rico. Leerdam initially admitted she thought Paul was “an arrogant idiot” because of his online persona, but the pair quickly bonded over their experiences as elite athletes living under constant public attention. Since then, they have regularly appeared together publicly, including during the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, where Paul supported Leerdam as she won both gold and silver medals. But during a recent livestream, Peters appeared completely unaware of who she was when he walked into an office area and spotted Leerdam sitting with several other women. “Oh there’s some girls,” Peters said on stream. “Do you guys work for betr?” he asked. Leerdam immediately shut the interaction down with a simple response. “Me? I’m Jake’s fiancée.” The comment visibly caught Peters off guard.“Oh. Nice to meet you. I was just telling Jake I’m very glad that he found a girl that he loves, so congratulations on your relationship. It was very nice to meet you. Yep, amazing,” he replied awkwardly. After shaking her hand and turning away from the pair, he looked visibly deflated before quietly muttering: “It’s cold, dude.” Later in the stream, Peters approached Paul to apologise for the incident before briefly sitting with the couple while they were eating lunch together. Paul himself appeared largely unbothered by the situation.
Who is ‘Clavicular’ and why is he controversial?
Peters, whose online aliases include Clavicular and “looksmaxxer,” has built a following on TikTok and Kick through content focused on “looksmaxxing,” an internet trend centred around obsessive attempts to maximise physical attractiveness. The practice has drawn criticism online because some creators promote extreme or dangerous methods in pursuit of altering their appearance. Peters recently attracted attention after appearing on Logan Paul’s podcast, where he admitted to attempting “bonesmashing,” a highly dangerous and medically unproven practice involving intentionally hitting facial bones in hopes of changing facial structure. During the conversation, Logan Paul reacted with shock after Peters revealed he had repeatedly hit himself in the face with a hammer. Paul asked whether Peters’ parents had hidden the hammers in their house because of the behaviour. “They did, that was not a joke,” Peters admitted. “I would say I probably did it three or four times, so I had to switch to this baseball trophy. “I’d be pretty swollen and all my coworkers thought it was pretty weird.”
