Translink have encouraged those heading to the Red Bull Soapbox Race at Stormont on Sunday 17th to leave the car at home and take public transport to the event.
Additional G1 Glider services will operate throughout the day, with services running in each direction from Wellington Place and Dundonald towards Stormont every 10 minutes from 12 noon until 7pm.
Commenting on the return of the popular event, Service Delivery Manager at Translink, Jonathan Seaton, said: “With thousands expected to attend, public transport is the easiest and most sustainable way to enjoy the event while avoiding congestion and parking delays.”
Passengers have been encouraged to plan ahead using the Translink Journey Planner app or www.translink.co.uk and allow extra time for travel on what promises to be an exciting day at Stormont Estate.
Those travelling into Belfast can enjoy Translink’s Family and Friends tickets for only £24, offering unlimited day travel on all Translink services within Northern Ireland for up to 2 adults and 4 children. Or the Metro and Glider Family Day Ticket is only £10 for unlimited day travel. Tickets permit up to 2 adults and 4 children.
Alternatively, passengers can get unlimited day travel on Sundays for only £10 on all Ulsterbus, Goldliner, Metro and Glider services within Northern Ireland after 9.15 am. And those travelling by train can avail of a £10 Sunday Day Tracker ticket for unlimited rail travel.
