What’s Up, Mommy Gang: Alex Cooper Is Pregnant

Congratulations are in order for Alex Cooper and Matt Kaplan, who are expecting their first child together. The Call Her Daddy podcaster and Unwell Network media mogul announced her pregnancy in an Instagram post on Sunday, May 17.

“Our family 🤍,” Cooper captioned the IG photo carousel, which featured two images of herself in a white crop top and loose pants that exposed her growing bump, smiling beside her husband and business partner, the film executive and producer Kaplan.

The couple first met on a Zoom call over the pandemic in July 2020, getting engaged three years later, and married in a Riviera Maya, Mexico-set ceremony in April 2024.

“It was everything we wanted it to be,” she told Vogue at the time of her nuptials. “It was emotional, heartfelt, and we tailored it to exactly how we always envisioned it.” Cooper wore a custom Danielle Frankel gown on the day.

They founded the Unwell Network—a multi-platform media and Gen Z production company—in 2023, with Call Her Daddy as its flagship podcast among others.

On an August 2024 episode of Call Her Daddy, Cooper voiced her fears around her fertility and relationship, having been diagnosed with HPV several years prior. “At this point, Matt and I were starting to get serious and we were dating, and for the first time. It just sucked, because I could really envision a future with a man,” said. “I think I was scared to vocalize one of my biggest fears, which was the possibility that this mistake I made years ago was going to impact my fertility. Matt was the first person I had dated that had me realize I even wanted to have kids.”

She continued: “I knew I was going to have to be honest about it…I told him everything. And he couldn’t have been more loving and understanding and supportive.” Cooper underwent treatment for her HPV and successfully tested negative six months later.
