Kristen Stewart challenged the Cannes Film Festival’s dress code twice in one day, cementing her status as a sartorial boundary-pusher. Just hours after bending the festival’s rules in a sheer illusion skirt set, the Twilight alum bared some major skin as she unveiled a trendy hair transformation on May 16.

Stewart switched up her wet-style mullet from earlier on Saturday at the Full Phil photocall in favor of full curtain bangs, which she debuted as she stepped out at the Full Phil screening. Posing with her co-stars at the Palais des Festivals event, the hair chameleon styled her dark brown bob with her full eyebrow-length fringe parted in the middle and swept to either side of her face. The Spencer actress added a bold pop of color with a swipe of bright red lipstick, which contrasted her iridescent champagne eyeshadow and sculpted cheekbones.

Stewart upped the sartorial drama with her naked illusion gown, which subtly skirted around the storied film festival’s rules prohibiting sheer looks for “decency reasons.” The Snow White and the Huntsman actress’s short-sleeved dress was made out of nothing but black and red string woven together in intricate abstract designs from head to toe, exposing swatches of bare skin on her midriff, thighs, and décolletage.

However, upon closer examination, Stewart revealed the clever way she’d bent the Cannes rules with a built-in bra and high-waisted retro underwear that were seamlessly integrated into the floor-length frock.

Showing off different angles of her avant-garde dress on the red carpet, Stewart also revealed more coverage on her back and the bottom of her subtly pleated mermaid-style skirt. The star also subtly flouted Cannes’s dress code calling for “elegant shoes with or without heels,” showing off a pair of chunky black moto-style leather boots as she walked the event. A simple red leather bracelet with a gold clasp finished off her latest Cannes look.
