Piero Hincapié sent a crystal clear message to Arsenal fans before the Burnley match

Piero Hincapié wants to win the Premier League and the Champions League just as much as Arsenal fans want to see him lift both trophies. The Ecuador international has been a key member in getting Arsenal to this stage, and he sees it as pivotal to his first season to push the Gunners over the line.
Hincapié wants the exact same thing that fans want, and that can only bode well. Within less than a year of signing, he’s already raised the bar, and in a heartfelt message to fans, he insists that the job isn’t done yet.
Arsenal are painfully close to making history now. If they win 2/3 of their remaining games, they will have a splendid season. If they win 3/3 of their remaining games, they will have an immortal season.
That’s simply how it is, and Arsenal have a fine chance of marking their first win of the three tonight, as they welcome the already-relegated Burnley to the Emirates Stadium.
Piero Hincapié wants the same thing as every Arsenal fan
Piero Hincapié is hyperaware of the excitement felt by Arsenal fans right now, and he feels it, too. He doesn’t just see it as important to win for the fans’ sake, but also his own.
“I feel that excitement for the club,” said Hincapié. “On a personal level, it’s also important that in your first season you become champion. It would bring an immense happiness & be crazy for me too!”
For once, it feels like Arsenal players want to win something. This group of players feels different to the group that was at the club even a few years ago.
Hincapié continued: “The truth is that it is a very nice moment that the club is going through to reach a Champions League final & to be two games away from another Premier League title. There was something very exciting in the dressing room & a lot of desire to want to win everything.”
Too often in the past, Arsenal have fallen before they’ve even reached the final hurdle. This is the only time in recent history that they’ve been leading the chase in the second half of May, and they are painfully close now. Nevertheless, Hincapié sees the value in remaining level-headed and treating this just like he has every other game.
“But, as I say, it’s always step by step, game by game, and we hope to give joy to the club & to all the fans. I’m very, very much looking forward to the games ahead. We have worked hard all season, and let’s hope we are happy at the end of the season.”
Piero Hincapié is no stranger to winning the league
Piero Hincapié has to go down as one of the signings of the season. He knows what success feels like, having taken the Bundesliga title away from Bayern Munich with Bayer Leverkusen (not many players can say they’ve stolen a title from Bayern Munich). No less, he helped the German side to do it unbeaten!
Hincapié is a beat, physically and psychologically. Every time he goes to ground for a challenge, he does it cleanly, and he stands up instantly to roar to the crowd. If he plays tonight, he will do the same, and he will be met with the same roar.
There is no doubt that Arsenal will sign Hincapié on a permanent deal when his loan contract expires. He doesn’t just wear the Arsenal shirt, he embodies what it means to be an Arsenal player in this new regime down to his core.
