Anaïs Gallagher has been in therapy since she was 13 years old, her mother Meg Mathews has revealed, as she also confirmed that Anaïs’s dad, rocker Noel Gallagher, covers her rent but “she doesn’t get an allowance from either of us”.
Mathews, who shares Anaïs, 26, with the Oasis star, praised her daughter’s independence and described her as “bright and articulate”.
The journalist and businesswoman gave a joint interview with Anaïs in The Sunday Times, after Noel and his younger brother Liam were named on the publication’s annual Rich List – ranked at number 325 with an estimated combined wealth of £375m.
Yet Mathews, 60, insists that while Anaïs could have been a “spoiled brat“, she has “worked hard to find her own place in the world”.

“She has been in therapy since she was 13 and I think that was the best thing that me and her dad could have done for her,” she said. “It has been the building block that has made her into this amazing person.”
Mathews added that Anaïs, an influencer who studied photography at Camberwell College of Arts, lives “a normal life in a not-very-glamorous place”.
“Her dad pays her rent but she doesn’t get an allowance from either of us,” she added.
For her part, Anaïs said her mum raised her in a home “full of joy and expression” but suggested she “worried too much about herself and what other people thought of her”.
“The only time I felt really frustrated was during my education,” she added. “Mum couldn’t help me with difficult essays and I thought, ‘If only I had a parent who could, life would be easier.’”
She recalled applying for university and seeing a friend’s parents devise a plan to get her the most Ucas points: “I tried to explain this to my mum and dad and they were, like, ‘What the f*** is a Ucas point?’”

Noel and Liam are newcomers to the Sunday Times Rich List, thanks to their huge reunion tour of 2025.
The once-warring brothers patched things up in order to embark on 41 shows in stadiums around the world – thought to have earnt them more than £50m each from ticket and merch sales alone, not including major deals with Adidas and Land Rover.
Ranking higher on the list of the UK’s wealthiest figures in music are Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis and her family at number 10 (with £400m), Ed Sheeran (£410m), Rolling Stones musicians Keith Richards and Sir Mick Jagger – with £450m each – Sir Elton John (£480m) and Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber (£516m).
It was rumoured last year that Anaïs, along with her brothers Donovan, 18, and Sonny, 14, and cousins Lennon, 25, Gene, 24, and Molly, 27, helped encourage Noel and Liam to mend their long-running rift, having decided early on that their fathers’ fraught relationship wouldn’t affect their own.
