According to Spain’s Cadena SER, Pep Guardiola’s reported Man City departure could pave the way for Rodri to leave The Citizens for Real Madrid. The radio station noted that while Madrid have long been monitoring Rodri, any prospective move for the player will need to be agreed by incoming manager Jose Mourinho.Journalist Anton Meana said: “Rodri is a player who has become available to Real Madrid in the market, and the club needs to know if the new manager wants them to pursue his signing.”

Manu Carreno added: “Guardiola’s departure could also be an additional factor.

“Let’s remember that the last time he was here with us, he said that about who wouldn’t want to play for Real Madrid. We all know that’s one of Rodri’s wishes.”

Barcelona can’t sign Alvarez, but PSG can

According to Spanish transfer expert Roberto Gomez, Barcelona can’t afford to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, but Paris Saint-Germain can. Barcelona, PSG and Arsenal have all been linked with the former Manchester City forward, who has scored 20 goals and registered nine assists across all competitions this term. “Barcelona doesn’t have the money to sign Julian Alvarez, but PSG does,” the journalist told Marca radio, referring to the players’ alleged €150 million (£130m) price tag.

“The team that wants Julian Alvarez is PSG. It would be another irreparable loss for Spanish football.”

Man Utd and Liverpool target Juventus defender

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United and Liverpool are among a spate of clubs interested in Juventus centre-back Bremer.

Bremer’s future at Juventus weighs heavily on whether the Serie A giants secure UEFA Champions League football next season. They’re currently sixth, two points adrift of the Champions League places with a game remaining.

The Gazzetta dello Sport report claimed: ”Bremer is on the Premier League’s transfer window radar, from United to Liverpool and beyond, but, above all, he’s ready to reflect on a future where he can win without ever questioning whether the project is the right one.

”Qualification for next season’s Champions League is a crucial condition for making sense of what lies ahead: challenging Europe’s most powerful clubs and being able to bring significantly greater financial power to the summer transfer window.

”The feeling is that after the World Cup, Bremer will listen to potential offers and make his own assessments: staying with Juventus is his priority, but he wants to understand how the new Juventus will be formed and what the club’s short-term strategies will be.”

Barcelona put off by Bastoni price tag

A fresh Marca report has claimed Barcelona are interested in the services of Inter centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, though a move may be affected by the centre-back’s hefty price tag.

Inter are believed to want between €60m (£52m) and €70m (£60m) for the Italy international.

The Marca report says: ”The first [defender] on the list is Alessandro Bastoni, the Inter Milan defender. However, at the moment the transfer is at a standstill.

”The Catalan club has yet to take the final step of sending a formal offer to the Italian club and has entered a waiting period to see how events unfold in the coming weeks.

”Firstly, the issue of Financial Fair Play remains unresolved. Currently, the club is still not compliant with the 1:1 transfer requirement, although they plan to rectify this, and this poses a problem when making any signings, as the Sporting Director must prioritise their transfer activity.

”With Lewandowski’s departure, bringing in a centre forward is crucial, and that means investing a significant amount of money. The Bastoni deal is also costly.

”There’s talk of a transfer fee between €60m and €70m. That’s a significant sum, and one that can’t be afforded until the club’s Fair Play status for this summer is clear.

”Deco is waiting for the board to finally inform him of the situation, but based on what’s happened in previous transfer windows, no date can be given.”
