Flash flooding possible

Damaging wind is the primary severe weather threat, but flash flooding will also be a significant concern.

Hail or an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, though both remain lower-end threats.

Heavy rain began around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The morning rain is expected to linger into the afternoon, the weather team says.

A strong storm or two is possible.

But the bigger concern may be additional rainfall on already-saturated ground, increasing the potential for flash flooding.

Drying out Thursday

Enjoy it while it lasts because it won’t last long.

Scattered storms return Friday with highs warming into the 70s.

How to prepare

  • Wednesday: Keep an umbrella with you during the morning commute.
  • Friday-Sunday: Monitor forecasts closely for additional rain impacts and potential flooding concerns.
