Allied Mobility has been named the official accessibility partner for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The company, which manufactures wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs), will provide a fleet of these vehicles for competing Para athletes when the Games return to Glasgow from July 23 to August 2.

The partnership was announced at one of the Games’ venues, Scotstoun Stadium.
Allied chairman Gerry Facenna, managing director Peter Facenna and Jade Gallagher, chief operating officer at Glasgow 2026, were present at the announcement.
They were joined by Sean Frame, a Commonwealth silver medallist who will compete for Team Scotland in the T54 1500m.

Sean Frame expressed his appreciation for the partnership, saying: “Allied Mobility being involved in the Games and supporting disabled athletes is absolutely amazing and it will be invaluable to the athletes selected to compete.
“It will make it so much easier and less stressful not having to worry about transferring out of our day chairs as we have to do in normal cars.
“It will also make it a more relaxing and enjoyable experience when travelling to different venues during the games.

“These are my second games representing Scotland and I am very excited and very proud to get to compete in my home city of Glasgow.”
Allied Mobility’s support is key for the Games, which are set to have the largest Para sport programme in their history.
The company will also fund dedicated signage to highlight accessible routes to spectator areas.
In addition, Mobility Solutions, a sister company of Allied Mobility, will offer a variety of wheelchairs and electric scooters for public use at the Games.

Both companies are part of the Allied Vehicles Group, which employs more than 800 staff in the city and across Britain and Europe.
