Rush-hour métro interruption caused commuter chaos

The métro’s Green Line was out of operation between Angrignon and Lionel-Groulx stations for almost two hours during Tuesday afternoon rush hour.

Société de transport de Montréal (STM) spokesperson Amélie Regis said the service had to be interrupted at 4:41 p.m. due to an incident at Jolicoeur station involving a person in distress.

A shuttle bus service was offered between Angrignon and Lionel-Groulx stations during the interruption, but lineups were long at Lionel-Groulx station, both for the official shuttles and other buses heading to Verdun and LaSalle.

Régis said service was re-established at 6:32 p.m.
