How long will Spurs star Dylan Harper be out? What doctors are saying

San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper left in the third quarter of Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals after colliding with Chet Holmgren and falling awkwardly to the ground.
The former Rutgers star limped off to the locker room in a game the Oklahoma City Thunder won 122-113 to even the series at 1-1.
“Man, I’m sorry to say this again,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said of Harper Thursday on “Get Up.”
“I think we’re headed towards an MRI machine here and the results could be very important for the rest of this series.”
Dr. Evan Jeffries, a doctor of Physical Therapy and NBA & NFL Injury Insider, analyzed the potential timeline on Harper’s injury on X/Twitter.
“Dylan Harper left tonight’s game after grabbing his right ‘hamstring’
“The concern would be for a strain.
“Typical healing time
“Tightness: day to day
“Grade I: 1-2 weeks
“Grade II: 3-6 weeks”
Harper, who on Wednesday was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, had 12 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds before the injury, and was huge in the Spurs’ Game 1 victory, posting 24 points, 11 rebounds, 7 steals and 6 assists with one turnover.
The Spurs are already playing without injured point guard De’Aaron Fox (ankle), who has yet to play in this series.
Harper wasn’t the only player to leave the game with an injury, either.
Thunder star Jalen Williams also left the game with a left hamstring injury.
“He’s headed probably for an MRI machine,” Windhorst said.
“He’s already had three hamstring injuries this season.”
Game 3 of the series is set for Friday in San Antonio.
