On Thursday (May 21), Vivica A. Fox was spotted exiting the airport when a TMZ reporter caught up with her, telling the actress how New York and LA were alike. When the subject of politics was brought up, Fox said:

“Well, we see where reality stars get us, right? That’s why our economy is in trouble right now. So, y’all be careful with trusting the reality stars in political arenas. Politicians – good politicians – there’s a reason why they’re good politicians, because they make a career out of being a politician. They don’t just jump in and say, ‘Let me do it!'”

As Fox was getting inside her car, the TMZ reporter asked her if she was nervous as a resident of LA – ahead of the mayoral elections – to which, the actress said:

“Yeah. Karen Bass is gonna win.”

For the unversed, Karen Bass – who is a Democrat – has been serving as the mayor of LA since 2022. It was during her mayoral term that the Palisades fire engulfed the city last year. This year, Spencer Pratt has emerged as a strong Republican candidate against Bass in the running.

Pratt is a reality TV personality and subsequently, the target of Vivica A. Fox’s recent, mockery-filled statement.

Trump shows support for Spencer Pratt, calls him “a big MAGA person

While Vivica A. Fox clearly appears to be vouching against Spencer Pratt in the upcoming mayoral elections, the president has openly expressed his support for the TV star.

On Wednesday (May 20), a reported asked Trump if he saw himself in Pratt, considering both of them were former TV stars before entering politics later. In response, the president said:

“I’d like to see him do well, he’s a character. I assume he probably supports me. Does he support me?”

When an off-camera reporter said he thought so, Trump continued:

“I heard he does. I heard he’s a big MAGA person. He’s doing well.”

And while the support of the president would mean a great deal for any other mayoral candidate, it is not such a great news for Pratt, who has taken multiple measures to distance himself from Trump in recent months.

His efforts are rooted in his endeavor to defeat Bass in a city that’s heavily Democratic.

A primary mayoral election in LA is scheduled to take place on June 2, 2026, and a runoff election set for November 3, 2026.
