Exclusive: Scott not in England squad but he will travel with group to States

Thomas Tuchel has named his squad for the tournament this morning, and, while he was firmly in contention thanks to his superb form for Bournemouth as the team qualified for Europe for the first time, the 22-year-old has not made it into the final 26-man squad.
But Scott will head to the USA with England as they prepare for the competition.

He is a part of the squad that will travel to Florida for a World Cup training camp in early June, with friendlies against New Zealand on June 6 and Costa Rica on June 10.
Scott exclusively told the Daily Echo that while he was disappointed to not be in the squad, he didn’t feel he could have done much more to get a spot.
As he will be with the group in the States, he may be in line for a spot in the group should there be any injuries, and he hopes he can make his debut for the team in those two friendlies.

Scott told the Daily Echo: “Obviously I’m gutted not to be part of the squad, I’m not too upset because I feel like I’ve done everything I could have done to be in there.
“But it’s obviously nice that they really want me to go there and be a part of the prep camp as well and help the team prepare for the World Cup.
“So that was never an opportunity that I was going to say no to.
“So yeah, I’m looking forward to that. It’s going to be great to be around the group again and help prepare for the fixtures in Miami in the heat.
“I can’t wait for it. It’s going to be amazing. And yeah, fingers crossed I can hopefully make my debut out there.”
