Allan Hale: Elgin City sack manager for ‘gross misconduct’ following investigation

Elgin City have dismissed manager Allan Hale “with immediate effect after a finding of gross misconduct”.
The club had promoted assistant Stefan Laird to acting manager on 11 May, four days after suspending Hale.
And the Scottish League 2 club said on X on Friday: “Following the conclusion of an internal investigation conducted in accordance with the club’s policies and procedures, we can confirm that the men’s first-team manager has been dismissed with immediate effect after a finding of gross misconduct.
“The club will make no further comment on this matter.
“We can now fully focus on the positive process of appointing a new manager and the continuation of our player recruitment plans.”
Hale’s suspension came after Elgin finished sixth in Scotland’s fourth tier. He took charge in December 2023.
The 38-year-old former Fraserburgh player previously managed Highland League clubs Huntly and Keith.
