Ethan Page impresses but Penta retains Intercontinental title at SNME

If we’re to believe reports making the rounds in recent days, the powers that be at WWE are hugely impressed with Ethan Page, the longtime industry veteran who made his way up through the ranks of NXT to the main roster by working harder than anyone else and paying attention to the details. The word has been he’s positioned himself well for the future, no matter the outcome of his match with Penta at Saturday Night’s Main Event this evening (Sat., May 23, 2026) at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Peacock.
The Intercontinental title would be on the line, and the timing of the reports made for obvious speculation that the company could be considering crowning Page and really getting behind him as he pushes forward on Monday Night Raw moving forward. Penta, however, is a hugely charismatic luchador who has himself impressed since debuting with WWE.
The two went out and absolutely tore the house down with a fantastic back-and-forth showcase match, one that saw Penta go over with the Mexican Destroyer off the ropes. Page tried to cheat his way to victory, even getting something of a visual pinfall, but in the end he got his just deserts and came up short.
But his future does indeed look awfully bright.
