Rocket League Unreal Engine 6 Coming In 2028

After being hyped by creators, staff, and professional players during the Paris Major, the news we’ve all been waiting for has arrived: Rocket League Unreal Engine 6.
It’s been eleven years since Rocket League was first released, and after a stagnant two years, Epic Games has shifted gears and begun accelerating towards a new finish line.
Quality of life updates were added two months ago and will continue to come in Season 23. But that’s all been blown out of the water as Epic Games has just announced an Unreal Engine 6 port.
Forget UE5, Rocket League Unreal Engine 6 is coming
Back in 2021, Rocket League was confirmed to be porting to Epic Games’ own engine, after the publishers acquired Psyonix.
Having waited five years for an update on the 2021 announcement that Rocket League will be getting a port to Epic Games’ engine. The publisher has since revealed that the next version of Unreal is on its way.
Now, Rocket League has been announced as one of the first games that will be shipping straight to Unreal Engine 6.

What does Unreal Engine 6 mean for Rocket League?
The biggest thing in Unreal Engine 6 is set to be its unparalleled creativity features. It’s an element that Rocket League has never tapped into. Despite an outpour of requests from fans.
It could quickly see the development of custom maps and modes being ported in, as happens with Fortnite’s current Creative mode. That doesn’t just mean your usual soccar modes either. There will be an opportunity for the popular Bakkesmod ball control packs and obstacle courses to be created and shared directly inside the game.
Fortnite has already showcased what is possible with UE5. Unreal Engine 6 only promises more action and more customisation.
UE6 will also be a ‘social’ engine that is set to integrate community hubs and forums inside games, which would make co-streaming and live watch parties possible.
It will offer the most enhanced graphics that gaming has produced, smoother gameplay, higher tick-rates, and allow for real-time hotfixes to be performed with ease.
The only snag is that Unreal Engine 6 is set to arrive in 2028, which means that Rocket League will have to wait a little longer for its massive overhaul.
