Charles McAdoo trends for Blue Jays after Vladimir Guerrero Jr. injury

The Toronto Blue Jays lost Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on Sunday.
He was hit by a pitch on his right elbow and immediately exited the game because of that injury. It’s not immediately clear how bad it is, but Blue Jays fans are fearing the worst.
An immediate name came to mind for some Toronto supporters, though: Charles McAdoo.

McAdoo has a cousin relation to basketball Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo. This McAdoo has played the whole season at Triple-A Buffalo.
He’s 24 years old and has been shining bright so far this season.
With the Bison entering Sunday, McAdoo has hit .259 with an .823 OPS. He has six doubles, one triple and eight home runs. McAdoo has driven in 27 runs and stolen six bases.
He has yet to play at the MLB level, but he looks ready.
McAdoo has also played first base and third base at Triple-A — and for the first time this week, he has played second base, too.
The Blue Jays made that position addition to try and prepare McAdoo for another way to come to the major leagues.
If Vladdy’s injury is at all serious, McAdoo won’t need that new position. He could come up just to play first base.
Obviously, the Blue Jays want Guerrero to be OK. But if he’s not, McAdoo will have earned his opportunity to enter the picture.
