Tottenham are expected to sign Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi after securing Premier League survival.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side went into their final game against Everton knowing a point would likely be enough to avoid relegation to the Championship, due to their superior goal difference. They sat 17th in the table, two points above 18th-place West Ham, who entertained Leeds United.
In the end, Tottenham got the job done by beating Everton 1-0 thanks to Joao Palhinha’s first-half strike. It moved them up to 41 points from their 38 matches and sealed Premier League football for next season.
Now Tottenham’s place in the top flight has been confirmed for 2026/27, the club are set to complete two transfers. Robertson is the first one poised to come through the door following his summer exit from Liverpool, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that a ‘verbal agreement’ had been in place for the left-back to sign for the north Londoners if they avoided relegation.
Robertson, 32, has spent the last nine years at Liverpool, making more than 350 appearances and winning a number of major trophies, including the Premier League twice and the Champions League.
The Scotland international is poised to add some much-needed experience and quality to Tottenham’s defence and compete with Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence for the left-back position.
Andy Robertson is set to join Tottenham
He said farewell to the Reds following their 1-1 draw against Brentford on Sunday, as he prepares to leave Anfield and become a free agent at the end of his contract in June.
Tottenham are poised to now complete the formalities of Robertson’s move to N17 and get the deal signed and sealed.
The second signing set to come through the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium doors is Bournemouth centre-back Senesi, who had been in ‘advanced talks’ with Spurs, subject to the club securing Premier League safety.
Like Robertson, the 29-year-old Argentine is a free agent this summer with his contract at the Cherries coming to an end.

While he has significant interest elsewhere, Senesi is expected to become De Zerbi’s second signing at Tottenham and join Robertson in north London.
The ex-Feyenoord man has been at Bournemouth since 2022 and has amassed more than 100 appearances during his time on the south coast.
This season, he has been an integral part of the Bournemouth side that finished sixth in the Premier League and secured Europa League football.
He is set to add some real Premier League stardust to Spurs’ back-line and give them some ready-made experience and class for next season.
