Russell Crowe Defends Gruff Exchange With Autograph Hunters

Are you not entertained?
That was the basic message from Russell Crowe after he was filmed having a terse exchange with autograph hunters in Paris on Monday.
The Gladiator actor, who has a reputation for being occasionally gruff, was leaving his hotel and heading for the airport when he was confronted by fans seeking selfies and signatures.
“Are you listening?” he said, addressing the fans. “Stay where you are, don’t f*****g push in on me and I’ll come to you. Give everybody space. As soon as somebody’s a dick, I’m going. Copy? Clear?”
He signed some Gladiator images, before being asked by a fan if he could “add Maximus” to his autograph. “No,” he said, turning to other fans.
If you needed a reminder that fans are not always priority No. 1 — turn to Russell Crowe — cause the guy was absolutely not having it outside of his Paris hotel.

TMZ posted the video with the caption: “If you needed a reminder that fans are not always priority No. 1 — turn to Russell Crowe — cause the guy was absolutely not having it outside of his Paris hotel.”
In a response on X/Twitter, Crowe clapped back: “Clickbait. Everybody got their autograph and selfie, the passage to the hotel was kept free for guests, and I still got to the airport on time. One man, no security. Handled. What’s your problem?”
