French Open 2026: Victoria Mboko returns to Paris as World No. 9 – how to watch the rising star live

Victoria Mboko heads to Roland-Garros 2026 in a completely different position from the one she occupied 12 months ago.
Last season, the Canadian teenager arrived in Paris ranked 120th to make her debut in the tennis Grand Slam, where she eventually reached the round of 32.
Since then, she has skyrocketed to the No. 9 seed as one of the fastest rising players on the WTA Tour.
A breakthrough title in Montreal last year accelerated the 19-year-old’s climb up the rankings before another trophy in Hong Kong confirmed her rise.
Mboko also reached the final in Strasbourg on Saturday (23 May), just days before the French Open, although she lost in three sets to Emma Navarro.
Now working with Iga Swiatek’s former coach, Wim Fissette, Mboko heads into the clay major carrying genuine expectations for the first time.
Mboko opens against Czech player Nikola Bartunkova, another young prospect who reached the round of 32 at the Australian Open earlier this season and showed her clay-court class with a run to the last 16 in Rome.
The Canadian’s projected path also includes Madison Keys as a possible third-round opponent, though Mboko owns a win over the American from earlier this season on hard courts.
Jessica Pegula could then await in the fourth round, a match-up Mboko has yet to experience on tour.
If the draw holds, Aryna Sabalenka could again stand in her way in the quarter-finals. The pair have already met twice this season, in Melbourne and Indian Wells, with Sabalenka ending both runs.
Mboko will also feature in doubles alongside Filipina star Alexandra Eala, reuniting two former junior rivals.
Here is how you can follow Mboko at Roland Garros.
