Jannik Sinner v Clement Tabur LIVE – 2026 French Open updates as the world number one begins bid for Career Grand Slam on Court Philippe Chatrier

SINNER 2-1 TABUR
There is a rush of applause for Tabur as he wins the opening point on serve once more but there’s a nervous groan when an inside-out forehand clips the tape and flies away.
The Frenchman rips a blistering wrong-footing forehand to make Pulp (30-30) and then forces Sinner to stretch into a forehand that he can only steer long.
The wildcard jumps into a crosscourt forehand to try and get that first game under his belt but thuds it into the net and then coughs up a break point from deuce when his Hollywood forehand down the line flies off the island.
A clutch serve gets him out of dodge and he resists a second BP with some bold forehands and a short-angled winner.
The underdog has settled well and is eager to play aggressively when he can, which leads to the crowd erupting when he drills a lovely crosscourt backhand winner to get himself on the board.
