A desperate search is underway for a four-year-old Southern California girl who cops say has been abducted by her father — who is also a person of interest in the murder of her mom.
An Amber Alert was issued by the California Highway Patrol for Daleyza Fregoso, who is believed to have been snatched by 40-year-old Ruben Fregoso.
LAPD said a welfare check at the girl’s West Adams home in the 2600 block of Alsace Ave resulted in finding the body of an adult female inside the residence.

Police said that “preliminary investigation shows that the victim died as a result of violence.”
Video obtained by KTLA showed authorities removing a body on a stretcher from a home in the area, with the medical examiner’s vehicle on scene.
Daleyza and Ruben were last seen in Los Angeles County near the West Adams neighborhood in the area of Alsace Ave. and Ferndale St.
The White Land Rover they were believed to travel in has since been located in San Diego County, in the town of San Ysidro, NBC4 reported.

Authorities located the suspected kidnapper’s vehicle at the Las Americas Premium Outlets mall, per the report.
The shopping center is just steps from the International border crossing into Mexico. Daleyza is described as having black hair, brown eyes. She weighs 45 lbs and is 3’0 tall.
Ruben is listed by CHP as weighing 200 pounds and 5 ‘9 tall. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said that investigators also learned that Fregoso had recently made statements “indicating he intended to flee the country.”

Police said they are currently asking for the public’s help and actively seeking information regarding their whereabouts.
The Amber Alert is issued by the CHP when a child has been confirmed as abducted and there is reason to believe that child is in imminent danger.
